The Good Night is by far the best Victory At Sea record that I’ve ever heard. Moody and melodically creepy like Engine Down, they’ve finally mastered the art of turning slow-death melancholia into weighty emotional excursions. Add dashes of sax, violins, and a soothingly clear production, and you’ve got a real local Boston treasure.
