Patience and Science (Or)
by Scott Hefflon
This is surprisingly nice. I seem to recall not hating but not really being engaged by his previous release. It’s indie pop, with very light electronics and keyboards (used as a spice, not as gravy slathered over everything to mask lack of taste, like many indie popsters), and man, this guy can sing and grab you and make your feet tap. Lyrics seem insightful, the songs aren’t all the damn same, and unlike much pop, it’s pretty consistent throughout (not one cool single, and a lot of shit). Good stuff. Get to know him.
