Wow, this is nice! Just a five-song advance of a band I’ve never heard of, on a label I’ve never heard of. (Distributed by Vagrant, it seems.) If you were lucky enough to hear The Sheila Divine before their career got flushed, or Dear Leader, who have yet to sign with anyone whose reach exceeds Boston city limits, you know the lush, gorgeous, Morrissey-esque drama that’s hinted at here. Dark and “Gothy” guitars, drenched in echo, dance around keyboard washes, and “hey, isn’t that… no, wait…” moody, Britishy vocals. Get them on the mp3 CD, get the full release.
