Vintage rock/rockabilly twang heroes Throw Rag have long been respected by their fans, overlooked by the masses, and caused confusion in the casual observer. They aren’t punk (despite having a few records on BYO), and they aren’t slash’n’burn rock, bar punk rock, garage, psychobilly, or any other easy label with a its own section of accessories at Hot Topic. They’re rock’n’roll that sometimes gets dark, sometimes soulful, sometimes manic, and often finger-snaps at mid-tempos, slurring vocals and sliding riffs for your staggering pleasure. As you can tell, I’ve never really gotten the appeal of the band, but can always find a few songs per CD I rather like if someone plays them, but have never once gone searching for.
