Cadillac Blindside

Eat your hearts out, Get Up Kids fans everywhere (not just because another band has taken on cardigans and collar-shirts as uniforms either). Here’s a band that does that “cute boy” pop-punk thing better than most, sounding like a mixture of bands that they’ve spent road time with: Alkaline Trio, Dillinger Four, The Appleseed Cast, and The Stereo (whose drummer, incidentally, recorded this album). Supposedly, Cadillac Blindside can pull off “At The Drive-In-ish” live shows, which is hard to believe (considering how much physical harm results from it). But at least with a solid and melodic, harmony-filled, attention-grabbing record like this that makes use of interwoven instruments, I for one will be going to see them in the flesh to find out for myself (opener “At Wit’s End” is a killer).
