Frank Black Francis can still write a weird, affecting tune. It’s folky, ethereal, and probably the best offering from new record, The Night the Zombies Came.
“The Future” was the first of three singles released ahead of Superdrag singer John Davis’ new solo record, JINX. The shoegaze element beats out the pop.
Reminiscent of souped-up Supergrass or the Damned at their fastest. Sped-up ’70s punk with raging guitars, high-pitched vocals, and a call-and-response chorus.
“Vilified” sports grungy, twisting rhythms and mean riffs. Cantrell is accompanied by bassist Robert Trujillo and former Dillinger Escape Plan drummer Gil Sharone.
