Short Music for Short People

If you haven’t heard people gushing about this CD, you’re hanging out with the wrong people. Short Music for Short People is a compilation of 101 bands each contributing a 30 second song. This is a who’s who of punk, from all over the world, spanning decades of the genre in its many forms – the ultimate CD for punk fans with short attention spans who wanna laugh, slam, bop, and flip through a thick booklet every 30 seconds to find out who did this great song, man! It’d take pages to do a track-by-track (and I’d have to keep hitting repeat and drive my roommates fuckin’ nuts), so I’m just gonna list the bands so you’ll be duly impressed and rush on out to yer nearest store and shell out the bucks for this bad boy: Fizzy Bangers, Less Than Jake, Teen Idols, Terrorgruppe, Good Riddance, Chixdiggit, The Living End, Bad Religion, Hi-Standard, Aerobitch, Nerf Herder, Bigwig, Undeclinable Ambuscade, Fury 66, The Ataris, Unwritten Law, A.F.I., Dillinger 4, Spread, Swingin’ Utters, The Barfeeders, Citizen Fish, Blink 182, Goober Patrol, Killswitch, Enemy You, No Use For A Name, Green Day, Consumed, The Mr. T Experience, Lagwagon, Gwar, The Dickies, Samiam, Dogpiss, 59 Times the Pain, Bracket, No Means No, Descendents, Dance Hall Crashers, Guttermouth, Limp, Jughead’s Revenge, Circle Jerks, The Offspring, Mad Caddies, The Criminals, Screeching Weasel, One Man Army, Strung Out, Youth Brigade, Groovie Ghoulies, Tilt, Spazz, The Damned, 88 Fingers Louie, D.O.A., Pulley, The Vandals, Pennywise, No Fun At All, Sick Of It All, ALL, NOFX, 7 Seconds, Rancid, Diesel Boy, Adrenaline O.D., Frenzal Rhomb, The Queers, D.I., Black Flag, White Flag, Anti-Flag, Avail, The Real McKenzies, Agnostic Front, Down By Law, Radio Days, Useless ID, Poison Idea, Men O’ Steel, Subhumans, Buck Wild, Lunachicks, Dwarves, The Bouncing Souls, Trigger Happy, One Hit Wonder, Hotbox, 20%, Snuff, The Muffs, H2O, Bodyjar, Nicotine, Satanic Surfer, Ten Foot Pole, Caustic Soda, Misfits, and Wizo. WHEW!!!

Honestly, the real joy of this CD is if you dislike a song, you don’t have to wait but 20 seconds and yer onto the next track. And if you’ve heard of every single band on this CD and own a record or two by them, that, I think, qualifies you as dangerous. Really, take a walk, get a little sun, go to a park instead of the record store, K? Cuz man, there’s A LOT of stuff here. It’s funny how you can get a feel for a band in 30 seconds or under. And you can peg bands you always kinda thought sounded the same now that you have tracks leaping from one to the other in such rapid succession. Hang out with yer friends and try to be the first to yell out the name of the band! Fun, Fun!
